The Logan County Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce that the Oakley Health Mart Pharmacy opened July 12. Getting a pharmacy back in Oakley has been a long process that was started when Melinda Moeder wrote a tax credit proposal that was awarded $140,000 in tax credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce which allowed the Foundation to raise $200,000 in donations from the community. The Logan County Healthcare Foundation has recruited a pharmacist, purchased a building and helped set up the pharmacy but the business will belong to pharmacist Kezia Schwieterman. Schwieterman says, “I am excited to get the pharmacy open and to meet the people of the community.” Pharmacy hours will be from 9:00 am 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm 5:30 pm on Monday Friday. She also plans to offer free mail out and in-town delivery for those who can’t make it in during regular business hours. To transfer your prescriptions from another pharmacy bring in your bottles and Schweiterman will take care of the transfer. Schweiterman says that she will accept insurance from most companies. If she is not set up to accept insurance from a carrier she will try to get set up with them. The pharmacy will also carry over-the-counter medications. |
