Logan County Hospital - $865,686

The Logan County Healthcare Foundation has supported the Logan County Hospital by raising money through tax credits for the expansion of the clinic and health department and purchasing new equipment.

 

Equipment purchased for LCH

  • Ultrasonic cleaner and sterilizer is used to sterilize instruments.
  • Upgrade the pharmacy computer system.
  • A transportation bus is used to transport community residents to the hospital for therapy and doctor’s appointments and for activities and errands for the hospital apartment residents. The transportation van can be used by anyone in the community for a small fee.

    Logan County EMS - $9,342

    • Evac-u-splints - these conform to a body making it easier for the EMTs to move an injured person
    • Suction machines
    • Patient lift assist - to help the EMTs to lift patients without stress to the EMTs back
    • Pulse oximeter - takes the pulse and oxygen saturation levels of patients
    • The CPR training mannequins - to allow the EMTs to be trained on CPR

    The Logan County Health Department - $5,040

    The Logan County Health Department provides vital services to the county. They make home visits where they fill weekly medication boxes, take vital signs, fill insulin syringes, draw blood for lab work that has been ordered by the doctor, give baths and take blood sugars.

     

    Equipment purchased for the Logan County Health Department

    • Pulse oximeters are used on these home visits, the Foundation has purchased two sets of these for the Health Department.
    • Auto tympanometer to measure the pressure within the middle ear space.
    • Audiometer measures hearing or intensity of sound.
    • Various equipment and supplies purchased with the expansion of the department.

    Oakley Health Mart Pharmacy

    With the help of the Kansas Department of Commerce tax credit program the Logan County Healthcare Foundation has brought a pharmacy back to Oakley. We were granted $140,000 in tax credits to award to donors who donate money to this program. This allowed the Foundation to raise $200,000 to bring a pharmacy back to Oakley. Donors to this program received a tax credit on their Kansas Income Taxes in the amount of 70% of their total donation.

     

    The pharmacy opened July 12, 2006 and has been well received by the community.
